Last update: April 12th, 2005
Do you want to share your knowledge or your techniques within our permanent growing community, whether as a beginner, advanced or professional workshop? Well done!
You should obey some rules while writing a tutorial. We will sum up them with these points.
Please study these points before you begin to construct your first workshop. They surely will answer all your questions and you won’t need to ask us and we hopefully would not have to answer similar questions again and again
1. Check, whether y o u r workshop already exists. It is best to use “modules.php?name=News” or enquire here: modules.php?name=Searchpsd.
2. A tutorial consists out of 2 parts. The first one will be a preview. The subject of your workshop will be here you should describe in short, and additionally include a small preview picture (the end-phase of your workshop, size: 300x300 pixels).
The 2nd part will be the genuine workshop.
3. Choose a very comprehensive and concise title for your workshop.
4. Name your version of the used software (e.g. PS 6 … PS CS2) in the beginning, because there are different terms for different versions. When using photos please add the name of the used camera.
5. A picture explains more than thousand words. So use enough graphic materials. Always use license-free photos-pictures, preferably your home-made photos (and don’t use models e.g.). Never absolutelly use pictures simply from a search engine.
6. Beware that your pictures will not be too big, not exceeding a page width. You should show only the essentials and delete superfluous passages (you usually won’t need the rest of the Photoshop page)
7. Create a comprehensive workshop without deviating from your chosen subject. Even beginners should be able to follow your workshop. Explain with pictures; when in doubt, rather one step too much, than leave one out.
8. Before you send your workshop, read it again carefully and correct possible spelling or typing mistakes. We do appreciate the use correct language. Don’t use abbreviations and slangs and use capital letters correctly. In general, write your workshop according to the valid spelling and grammar rules.
If in doubt, use your favorite text software, as it will indicate mistakes and help correct them if you let it happen.
9. Upload pictures to our server and don’t use links to others (these servers may go offline). You can red how to do this here: contentid-18.html. Here you will find answers to technical questions. Use our video, which vividly describes creating a video and uploading picturesy. If you still have questions, ask one of our moderators.
10. There are some general points we want you to obey. These applies to your workshops as well. You will find them here: modules.php?name=Forums&file=faq.
The provider can change and further develop the digital files. The right to use the workshop will be granted without payment.
You will guarantee us, that you are originator of all text, pictures or other objects of your workshop. That means, you did not copy, scan or just translate these objects.
You agree to free for psd-tutorials.de and its provider from any claims from a 3rd party.
As we cannot check all pictures or tutorials of the total world wide web, it may be possible, that we might put online workshops or pictures, already put online by others. Please notify us when this would happen per pm or email.
So, that’s all rules. We hope you will have a good time creating your workshop. We hope, too, that you will have a lot of fun and will learn a lot visiting PSD-Tutorials.
