Basics: Text Animation (Version: ) (Anonymous)

This is a translation from a german tutorial: Here I will show you how to easily animate a text.


Document properties: fps= 30.

First you type a text on to the stage with the text tool. (Picture)


2. Click the text once and press F8 to convert it to an mc.


3. Select the mc by double-clicking it. Right-click the text and divide it into parts. (Picture)



Now every letter is a seperate text-field what we need to animate every letter individually.

4. Now we convert every letter to an mc; it would be best to name it like the respective letter. It should look like that:


5. Kepp all mcs selectet (like in the picture above), right-click one of the letters and  then allocate layers.

6. Now many layers have been created and they each have an mc, a letter. (Picture)


7. Now the letters get animated:
    Select all mcs by marking them with the mouse button pressed. Select color = 0 (Picture) in Properties. Move the mcs a little up by pressing the up-key repeatedly.


8. Select Frame 15 on every layer and press F6 to create a key-frame. (Picture)




9. Stay in this key-frame and mark all mcs. In Properties set the Color: Alpha back to 100.

10. Do a move-tween in all layers by clicking a random frame before the 15th, marking all layers again and then clicking Move-Tween under Properties. (Picture)


11. To habe each letter animated seperately select one layer (and all frames) and just drag this 5 frames further and direct every layer to the frame with the last keyframe. (Picture)


12. In the last key frame go to Actions (F9) and type:   stop();
